Summer is here, and that means live music as the River Concerts Series makes its way through the Greenbelt in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Hosted by the Idaho Falls Arts Council with the help of sponsor Bank of Idaho, the River Concerts series has been providing the community with evenings of good music and fun for over a decade.
The Idaho Falls Symphony will perform at the Greenbelt Amphitheater on Saturday, July 23 at 6: 30 p.m. and Sunday, August 4 at 7: 00 p.m. with a special performance by the Idaho Symphony Orchestra.
The Idaho Falls Symphony Society is organized by the Board of Directors of the Idaho Symphony Orchestra and the Women's Symphony Auxiliary, which was founded in 1957. The board was elected first for the symphony and later for the women's orchestra, the first women's orchestra in the United States. An important goal of this board is to promote musical talent, to promote the artistic growth of the youth, to offer and promote the best music and to bring outstanding musicians into the community.
The Idaho Falls Arts Council was founded in 1953, preceded by the Idaho Falls Cultural Council, which was initiated by a local American Association of University Women. The first show was in high school, and the Glee Club tried its hand at a concert of some kind that set the music up for a year.
Wheeler writes that Eagle Rock, with a capacity of about 1,000 people, has one of the largest music venues in Idaho Falls. The main music hall is the Idaho Music Hall of Fame in downtown Boise and the Boise City Hall in Boise. It is home to the Idaho Falls - Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1981, and several other local businesses.

He performed as a musician, was appointed principal and commuted to Salt Lake City in 1965 to conduct. In 1966 he conducted his first symphony concert in front of about 1,000 people in the auditorium of the University of Idaho, then in his second year as rector.
After graduating, Horace returned to Seattle to take over the music business of his former employer. In 1901 he formed a partnership with his brother Harry and opened his own music shop selling pianos, violins and other musical items. Chesbro continued to run his business in the same place for more than 50 years, from 1901 until his death in 1953. He also founded the first piano repair shop in Idaho Falls, which serviced and sold pianos door to door, as well as a piano factory.

Rexburg, Idaho, has had an emerging local music scene since the band was founded by students at Brigham Young University in Idaho. It is noteworthy that the University of Idaho held its annual jazz festival this year, which came to celebrate jazz as an art form. The Treefort Music Festival was founded in 2014, and the range of sounds the band produces this year is wide. Some of the established acts from Boise are attracted by the eclectic mix of local bands, but also by foreign ones.
